A budget trip to Digha

A budget trip to Digha

Me(middle) with my friends
It was one of those unplanned trips that just takes place on the spur of a moment. The trip was to get away from the monotony of the sapping work life. It was decided to take a trip on the sea shores of the sea that can be accessed locally from the city of joy. That well everybody’s guess is Digha and it was.It was a winter time. My friends was planning for trip to nearby location. After a small meeting, it was unanimously decided to go to Digha, The Sea queen of Bengal  .
Tamralipta Express

Digha is a place at Midnapore district in WB, India. It is one of the popular tourist destinations in West Bengal. For a short holiday, it's an ideal place to stay for a few days. It's very easy to reach Digha. There are frequent buses from Calcutta. Also, recently train services have started. Two trains run everyday: at 6.30AM and at 2.30PM from Sealdha Station. It takes about 5 hours by bus & 3.5 hours by train to reach Digha.

We took Tamralipta express ( fare for general RS 85) and reached digha around 10:20 Am. We rushed to the hotel room and settled down a hotel for single room by RS 350 at hotel sonar tori inn a little bit far from beach. After that we took owr lunch. As I have gone to any sea side after a long 12 years, I was eager to reach sea shore. As soon as I reached the sea, I started working my index finger on my camera's shutter key. there were a few poles of around 2 ft. from the ground to keep tourists aware of the sea level. I moved forward and saw they were covered with planktons.
Digha Beach

We took rest that day.  and we went at beach at evening for took ssome photos. At last we returned to hotel around 9p.m. had our dinner around 10 p.m. then watched TV for a while and fell asleep. Next day, I suddenly woke up around 4:45 a.m. and went outside.
Very cold morning

life into Digha
That day at 10 AM we reached the Talsari beach, now there was  no water between Talsari fish selling harbor  and inside island . It is close to river mohana ( Subarna rekha river with Bay of Bengal ) and we could see the very far distant view of Udaypur Beach from there .

MOHONAঃ This is place is famous for fisting activities , we skipped this site this time , as this is a summer season and fishing activities are stopped . It is 3-4 Km from New Digha . If you come from Kathi side , it comes first just before entering Digha Town .

As for the food it’s really worth every imaginable budget though a bit skewed on the higher side as one may deem in a tourist spot. We asked for a thali of non veg which cost us about 100 bucks and was worth it. The taste buds will be delighted though for sure.

Last bit in the evening you can enjoy those dreamy walks with the sea wind gusting. Food from the shores in all local varieties is available on a platter to delight you. As for the drinks it flows but don’t dare to do it on a beach as like in Bondi beach else you are trouble with the cops

New Digha Beach : We had sea baths in New Digha beach. It is very safe beach. During our 3 days stay, we had bath every day in the beach. Walking along the beach is also very pleasant. We did some shopping in nearby shops.

Our 3 days stay at Digha , was full of sea bathing , collecting sea shells , strolling along the sea shore , spending evening at Digha  beach with snacks . It is really worth to spend few days in Digha with family and enjoy Digha life with site seeing , sea bathing and just passing time watching the countless tidal waves .
